We are a long established farm animal practice, dedicated to the agricultural industry, with a large client base providing complete routine and emergency care to suit farms and small holdings of all sizes.
Our Facilities include on site lambing shed, portable scanners and in house lab machines to provide comprehensive farm animal care. We also have staff members accredited on the ROMs, Healthy Feet and the Mastitis Control Plan Schemes.
RESPONSIBLE USE OF MEDICINES TRAINING
Red Tractor guidelines for farm assurance are now that Medicines Training needs to be renewed every 5 years. This means the certificates from our meetings at the Rugby Club are no longer valid (2018) but the more recent training (2023) at WFAM is. Dairy farmers who have done the Milksure training course can use this as approved training. We have got a course approved which we can deliver, giving us more flexibility.
We plan on running a series of lunchtime meetings, by kind permission of Wharfedale Farmers Auction Market, in the auction café throughout spring and summer, for everyone wishing to renew their training. We will hold enough for everyone who wishes to attend. We have 3 dates to start with, but will add more when we have an idea of numbers. We will prioritise those who need the training asap for recent or upcoming farm assurance inspections.
Anyone who wishes to attend these or future meetings please contact the surgery, ideally by email: crossgreenvets@gmail.com or by telephone: 01943 462546. Please let us know any preferences for dates for the scheduled meetings or equally if you are happy/prefer later in the year. Thanks.
